Hell Let Loose: Vietnam Maps List & Guide
The six launch maps ask different questions: can your squad cross a bridge, move through jungle, protect a waterway, survive open ground or work around industrial positions? Use this as a sourced directory, then check the live objective and mode before choosing a route.
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam launched with six maps: Thanh Hóa Bridge, Huế Outskirts, Vạn Tường, Quảng Ngãi, Đắk Tô Airfield and Cam Ranh Port. Their practical differences are the terrain and approach problems they create—not a permanent “best map” ranking. Check the current mode, objective layer and tactical map before copying a route or vehicle plan.
Six launch maps at a glance
The official game page describes six large-scale maps. The table below turns the published map descriptions into a first tactical question for a live match. Those questions are useful planning prompts, not claims about a fixed objective layout or complete mode rotation.
| Map | Defining terrain | First tactical question |
|---|---|---|
| Thanh Hóa Bridge | River crossings, bridge approaches, villages, trainyards, jungle and mountain cover | Which crossing can the squad hold, and what alternate route keeps the push alive? |
| Huế Outskirts | Terraced farms, steep ground, dense jungle, defended bases, industry and waterways | How will elevation and short sightlines change the approach? |
| Vạn Tường | Small villages, semi-urban spaces, dense jungle, beaches and a broad river network | Who is watching the riverbank while the squad moves between village and jungle? |
| Quảng Ngãi | Flooded ground, rocky cliffs, caves, bamboo forest, beaches and open lowlands | Where can the squad move without turning a crossing or lowland into an exposed advance? |
| Đắk Tô Airfield | Long runway, open approaches, fortified positions, nearby villages and highland jungle | What smoke, fire support or cover route gets infantry across the most exposed ground? |
| Cam Ranh Port | Industrial docks, military facilities, dry creek beds, rolling dunes and a broad waterway | Which covered lane controls the port while the team accounts for the water route? |
How to use map information in a match
1. Check the current mode first
Do not select a route from the map name alone. Warfare, Offensive, Conquest and Domination can ask different questions about the same terrain. Read the game modes guide for the rules, then inspect the live deployment screen for the active layer and objective.
2. Identify the approach problem
Ask what is stopping the next move: an exposed bridge or runway, a short jungle sightline, a riverbank, a cliff, a compound or a dock. The answer determines whether the squad needs smoke, a different spawn, a boat route, a tunnel or a helicopter request.
3. Compare the tactical map before spawning
Check elevation, roads, water, cover and the next usable fallback spawn. The nearest icon is not always the safest approach. If the squad is attacking across open ground, coordinate the move before spawning forward rather than discovering the exposure after the push begins.
4. Keep the logistics plan tied to the objective
The official game page identifies helicopters, supply drops, patrol boats and NVA tunnel networks as part of the Vietnam battlefield. Use the Supply Helicopter guide when a delivery has a clear receiving area, and use the NVA tunnel guide when a concealed deployment route supports the current objective.
Map-specific first questions
- Thanh Hóa Bridge: Is the bridge itself the fight, or can the squad create pressure on another crossing before committing to the obvious route?
- Huế Outskirts: Which elevation, farm edge or industrial position gives the squad a readable approach through the jungle?
- Vạn Tường: Who owns the river information—infantry on the bank, a boat crew or both—and where is the fallback if the crossing is watched?
- Quảng Ngãi: Which route avoids an unsupported transition between caves, bamboo, cliffs and open lowland?
- Đắk Tô Airfield: What is the plan for smoke, armour awareness and the runway crossing before the squad leaves cover?
- Cam Ranh Port: Is the immediate fight inside the docks, around the compounds or along the waterway, and which route connects those spaces?
These prompts are deliberately more durable than a copied “best route.” Objectives, spawns, enemy positions and live updates can change the correct answer from one match to the next.
What this page does not claim
- It does not publish a permanent best-map ranking.
- It does not treat one documented map-and-mode example as the complete rotation.
- It does not promise that the nearest route, boat lane or helicopter landing area is safe.
- It does not include future roadmap maps in the six-map launch directory until the relevant update is live.
For a first match, start with the beginner guide. If the map is not the problem and the game is stuttering or crashing, use the best PC settings guide or the PC crashing fixes.
